We take the global gold ounce price in US dollars, convert it to Lebanese Pound at the current exchange rate, divide by 31.1035 grams for the 24K gram price, then multiply by each karat's purity.
Do the prices include making charges?
No. These are raw gold values only. Jewellery prices in shops add making charges and sometimes tax; use the calculator to estimate the final price.
What is the difference between 24K, 21K and 18K?
Karat shows gold content: 24K is about 99.9%, 21K about 87.5% and 18K about 75%. Higher karat means a higher price per gram.
How often are prices updated?
The global gold price refreshes roughly every 30 seconds and exchange rates every hour.
What is the zakat threshold (nisab) for gold?
The nisab is 85 grams of 24K gold; zakat is 2.5% once gold reaches the nisab and is held for a lunar year.
